Khwan worked for Bangkok Metropolitan Administration as a computer systems manager before becoming a UK Company Director. She graduated with a BSc degree from Chandrakasem Rajabhat University, Bangkok. Khwan studied tourism with diplomas in eTourism Communication Perspectives from Università della Svizzera Italiana. Khwan is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland. She was the author of Soldiers of Siam in 2020 and has written other academic work on Siam in Europe during the First World War and on Isaan medical anthropology. Khwan is an authority on HM King Chulalongkorn and HM King Vajiravudh in international relations. She has run Heritage Open Day events in England and Germany.
